Born in Argentina and raised in Miami, I’ve always been drawn to healthcare—especially the field of dentistry. Early on, I discovered dental hygiene not just as a career, but as a powerful form of preventive medicine. What captivated me most was the educational aspect: helping patients understand how their oral health influences their overall well-being.

With over 15 years of clinical experience, primarily working alongside a prosthodontist, I’ve dedicated my career to caring for adult and older adult populations. This experience has deepened my understanding of the complex oral health challenges that come with aging, as well as the critical need for proactive, individualized care.

During my bachelor’s degree studies, I became increasingly aware of a major gap in healthcare—the disconnect between oral health and systemic health. Despite growing research and awareness, the mouth is still too often treated as separate from the rest of the body. This realization shaped my professional mission: to promote an interprofessional approach to oral health, where collaboration between healthcare providers becomes the norm, not the exception.

Through education, consultation, and advocacy, my goal is to empower nurses, caregivers, and fellow healthcare professionals to recognize the vital role oral health plays in the overall health of older adults. This is my way of giving back—bridging the gap to improve care and elevate the standard of health for our aging population.
